Welcome to Ocean Lakes Elementary School Parent Teachers Association!
Our organization was founded to promote the welfare of children and youth at home, school, and in the community. Join us in our continuing journey to raise the standards of home life, secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children, and to develop a unified effort between the general public and educators to secure the highest advantages in physical, mental and social education.

Boosterthon - Jan 18th
Our first Boosterthon Fun Run was a HUGE success! Our amazing students and families raised about $20,000 and look forward to using it on our students. Our students and staff were energized by Kowabunga Kelsey and Lightsaber Luke as we learned about citizenship, zest, growth mindset, integrity, and teamwork. Thank you to the donors, volunteers and families that came out to support our students. !
Enrichment - February 2019
Placement letters go home January 30th.
OLES PTA is offering after-school enrichment classes beginning on February 5th for students in grades 1-5. Classes are on Tuesdays from 3-4 pm for 4 weeks. Classes include: American Sign Language, Sign Painting, Tae Kwon Do, Crafts, Soccer, STEM, Wood Crafts, Cupcake Decorating, Electrical Circuits, Basketball, Volleyball, Japanese, Cheerleading, LEGO Robotics, Cursive, Hogwarts, Painting, and Reptile Rescue.

The OLES PTA offers 2- $500 scholarships
Qualifications

A June 2019 graduating high school senior.

Enrollment at Ocean Lakes Elementary School for a minimum of one year.

Well-rounded success in academics, school activities, service, and character.

Overall high school GPA of 3.0 or better.

Acceptance to an accredited college, university, or technical school for the Fall of 2019.

Only moms and teachers join the PTA.
Fact: A strong PTA needs the support of parents, family members, teachers, school staff, and community members. Anyone who cares about children belongs in the PTA!

Joining the PTA means I have to volunteer
Fact: The PTA appreciates everyone's membership, whether or not a member volunteers. You will not be sucked into a black hole of volunteering!
2.
I have to be a Board member of chair a committee to join the PTA.
Fact: You do not have to serve on the PTA Board of chair a committee to join. Your beautiful smile and support will suffice!
3.
PTA membership never expires; I only have to join once.
Fact: Each new school year begins a new PTA membership year. Your PTA membership will be good for the entire school year!
4.
I don't have the time to join the PTA.
Fact: If you are unable to volunteer your time, please consider becoming a member of the PTA. Your financial support helps fund events and activities for the children yearlong.
5.
I'll get roped into volunteering if I attend a PTA meeting.
Fact: There will be opportunities to get involved, but no pressure. No judgement here!
6.
The PTA is only for stay-at-home parents.
Fact: Your fellow PTA members are family and community members who want to support the kids and the school. Most members are juggling jobs, household chores, kids, sports, and homework, just like you!

My child's life will be the same whether or not I join the PTA.
Fact: Not only does membership put you in direct communication with other parents and teachers, it shows your child that you are interested in investing in their educational experience.

The PTA has all the help they need.
Fact: The PTA always wants and always needs volunteers! If you chose to volunteer, you decide your time commitment.

I have an idea but the PTA isn't interested.
Fact: New ideas are always welcome! It's important to keep your PTA fresh and exciting!
